The newly constructed Visitor Center at Pilot Mountain offers modern amenities, including offices, an exhibit hall, restrooms, and visitor parking. The building combines various materials and techniques, such as loadbearing CMU blocks, a steel frame with glulam wood beams, and wood stud framing. The exhibit hall features a striking 3″ exposed wood decking and a durable standing seam metal roof, while the administration area showcases elegant wood trusses with long-lasting architectural asphalt shingles. The exterior incorporates manufactured stone veneer, cement fiber siding, and aluminum-clad wood windows, along with a stylish storefront and a sleek curtain wall. The center also features new plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems that prioritize efficiency and functionality for a comfortable visitor experience.
